The Women Artists are unconventional, rebellious, often stubborn and always inspired. They are dreamers, tenacious, heroic.

Artiste is a book drawn by 27 illustrators and cartoonists about the lives and works of women in Art History.

This self production doesn't want to be a catalogue of art history, but a book to know the works of the women artists over the centuries through personal portrait of illustrators and cartoonists. The biographies will be illustrated by Italian authors with different styles and languages.

3 Reasons to support our project

• The inspiration: women are not accustomed to pursue their dreams. We want to talk about women who, despite the many difficulties, went straight on their way, and have realized their dream of becoming artists.
• The memory. Only a few years they are rediscovering artists who, in their time, were absolutely known and appreciated (Sofonisba Anguissola, Lavinia Fontana, Elisabetta Sirani). Talk about them and their work not only restores dignity to the role of women in art history but also to artists who want to go their way.
• The third reason is for those who is passionate about comics and illustration: we involved 27 talented illustrators and cartoonist that will definitely make a magnificent work!
